Audit Mechanism
The ITMCTR audit mechanism encompasses both formal audit and professional audit, ensuring the standardization and scientific rigor of clinical trial registration through their coordinated efforts.
The formal audit primarily assesses whether the registered project aligns with the platform’s registration scope and whether the registration content is properly and completely filled out. The professional audit focuses on evaluating ethical compliance, consistency, standardization, rigor, and logical coherence of the registration content. To ensure accuracy and authority, a three-tier review system is implemented, consisting of professional preliminary audit, professional secondary audit, and professional final audit. Senior auditors first conduct the formal audit and then assign projects to assistant-senior auditors based on the research topic. Assistant-senior auditors further distribute the projects to junior auditors, optimizing the efficiency and specificity of the audit process. In the professional preliminary review, junior auditors conduct a comprehensive initial review based on key review points. The professional secondary review, performed by assistant-senior auditors, reassesses critical aspects of the registration content and the preliminary review opinions. The professional final review, carried out by senior auditors, further refines and verifies the reviewed projects, ensuring completeness and accuracy. Projects that pass both the formal and professional audits are assigned a clinical trial registration number by senior auditors. Through this rigorous review system, ITMCTR provides a professional, standardized, and high-quality review service for the registration of traditional medicine clinical trials.
